Our Dream Home Creates History
Lattimer Homes director George Lattimer became the first winner of a new construction award after we created this magnificent luxury four-bedroom detached house at Oulton near Wigton.
George has already been crowned Britain’s Best Site Manager a record eight times in the annual Pride in the Job awards run by the National House Building Council.
He will now be chasing a ninth national title in January after being named 2012 North West regional winner in the Pride in the Job’s inaugural Single Plot award at a ceremony in Manchester.
Judges were impressed by the quality of work and craftsmanship that we put into Fairview, the detached split-level family property in Oulton. The family house includes a kitchen-diner leading through to a sitting room, plus main bathroom and two en suites. It also features raised gardens and terracing, stepped access and an underground garage and boasts views out to the Solway and up to Caldbeck.
George said: “This latest success is especially pleasing as it is the first time there has been a Pride in the Job award for a single plot. The new category rewards house-building companies like us who concentrate on high quality developments with fewer homes, down to just a single property, although we have actually won awards recently for multiple housing with three-50 houses like Sheila Fell Close in Aspatria and Midcroft Court at Dean, near Cockermouth.”
George also gave praise to his dedicated team of craftsman who worked tirelessly on this project.
The awards ceremony took place in front of 300 guests at Manchester’s Hilton Deansgate Hotel. George was the only Cumbrian among the four regional winners who were presented with their awards by Richard Tamayo, NHBC’s commercial director, and Ian Davies, NHBC regional director for the North West.
Pride in the Job is the only UK-wide competition dedicated to recognising site managers who achieve the highest standards in house-building. A Pride in the Job award is the highest industry accolade a site manager can receive. It represents success for the site manager, his team and associated trades and also offers homeowners who buy a Pride in the Job award-winning home the benefit of a high quality product.
