Industrial Units Being Built At Wigton
Work is progressing smoothly on our latest commercial project to create two new industrial units on the outskirts of Wigton.
One of the buildings going up at Syke Park will be occupied by agricultural engineers CT Hayton, which has outgrown its premises at Beckbottom in nearby Westward.
The other two-storey building will be about the same size – 36 metres by 19 metres – and will be available to let as two separate or one single units. Both will have car parking and a secure yard with access for delivery wagons.
C T Hayton’s premises will feature a workshop, stores, sales area and showroom on the ground floor and a lift upstairs to a boardroom, offices, storage and kitchen. There will also be customer parking at the front and an area to display tractors and other plant for sale, along with a secure yard to the rear with loading and wash areas and staff parking.
It is the first phase of our development of the site adjacent to Wigton’s Syke Park recycling centre. Permission was obtained from Allerdale Borough Council last year for the two industrial units but further applications could be submitted for additional commercial development on four more acres of Syke Park and possibly housing developments on another piece of land nearby.
Director Joe Lattimer said: “Our business has become well-known over many years for the quality of the houses we build, but we are also very active in the commercial and contracting sectors.
“Syke Park is our latest development featuring the construction of industrial units, following the success of our large Marvejols Park site at Cockermouth, which is fully occupied, with Cumbria Police among those having taken units.”
